Prof Sarah Gilbert, vaccinologist (and lead in the team that developed the oxford COVID vaccine) was invited to watch Wimbledon from the royal box. She was given a stirring minute long standing ovation when introduced to the crowd. Her inspirational work over the years has saved countless lives as she has researched vaccines against multiple infections including influenza, SARS, MERS and of course COVID. Many of the surgeons here at Geelong Orthopaedics are recipients of her vaccine, and we too are very grateful.
