Thanks to our rising coronvirus health crisis our Geelong Hospitals are full of Melbourne coronavirus patients and are under massive stress. Whilst everyone deserves treatment with dignity and respect this consume significant resources and thus displaces other patient’s care. With rising cases in Geelong (>100) we are facing a potential local crisis too. As such we have received a department of health directive today that only urgent cat 1 and 2a cases will be considered from oct 14. This will delay a large number of your surgeries and we apologise for the inconvenience. We will be in touch once we have more details.
