Australia is now widely exposed to the coronavirus. NSW has given up getting to zero , and and will eventually expose the entire nation to covid. Multiple hospitals are affected, ICU capacity is falling, and non essential surgery has ceased. This is a vision of what will happen in Vic if we do not suppress the virus whilst we vaccinate as many people as we can. Vaccination will be the “game changer” for us. But epidemiologist Dr Hasan Vally has nicely summarised why suppression is so important whilst we get the population vaccinated. It will be tough but we can do it together.
