This article appeared in the Washington Post. It highlights how COVID patients over running the hospital system has displaced other patients who need care. Unfortunately this is what has happened in Geelong when we were forced to care for a large percentage of unvaccinated COVID patients from Melbourne. This meant surgical restrictions, even though Geelong cases were low. This situation may arise again in 2022.
