DR Simon Flower
Dr. Simon Flower is a Victorian trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in all conditions of the shoulder and knee. He has international sub specialist training and a specific expertise in sports injuries and robotic joint replacement.

Simon grew up in Northeast Victoria, graduating from medical school at Monash University in 2013 with honours and a double degree in medicine and medical research.

Since completing specialist orthopaedic training throughout Victoria, Simon has undertaken subspecialty training at The Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter, United Kingdom. During this twelve month fellowship, he developed expertise in shoulder replacement, management of rotator cuff tears and shoulder instability. This shoulder experience was further expanded during additional fellowship with Prof. Richard Page here in Geelong.

With a special interest in sports knee surgery and ACL reconstruction, Simon became the first fellow of Melbourne’s Centaur Institute (formally OSVi) where he continues to perform research in optimising outcomes after ACL reconstruction.  Simon also completed an observership position in knee surgery at London’s prestigious Fortius Clinic. Here he gained invaluable experience managing ligament and meniscus injuries in professional athletes, including many from the English Premier League.

Simon consults at the St John of God specialist surgical centre, operates at The Epworth Hospital, and holds a public appointment at University Hospital Geelong.

Outside of the operating theatre you will find him cycling, swimming, or competing in the double-pram category of Torquay’s Saturday Park Run with his three children, and his wife who is a local GP.
